Topic

So far in this term we have been learning about water and I will be telling you some facts. One, is that when water gets puddles heat up it becomes gas, also known as water vapour. Two, when water vapour gets cold it turns into water again. That is called condensation. Last, hydro electricity is made by water flowing into blades, then spins the turbine and creates electricity! All of those facts of water sounds like their fake but no, they're actually real! And also we had groups finding different things about water. At the end of the week we had to do a quiz about what we learned to see if we were actually learning and not playing around. We also did an experiment, first you have to get your equipment which is water, a timer, some chalk and you have to do this outside, after you have gathered the equipment needed go outside to a flat place then pour your water. Step 2, then trace out the outline of the water with the chalk, after that get your timer and set it for 5 minutes then trace it around again after the timer has done. Then talk about what has happened to a partner. That is all for today and hopefully you have learnt something new. What is your favourite thing to learn about?

Term 2!

It's term 2 now and i'm looking forward to what sports we are going to do this term, like volley-ball or rugby and a lot more! So far we have learn't a game called hand ball which is basically a mix between Netball and Basketball. I was a goal defender also know as GD. I like the game because it's very energetic and the game goes really fast and you need to be really fit to play. I was in bibs team and I was with Zaine who is around about by 5 feet and 8 inches. So I think we had a pretty good chance to win but over all it doesn't matter and it was really fun and I hope we get to play it a lot.

Paper battle ships

Today we have been playing a game just like battle ships except it's with paper! If you don't know what battle ships is it's basically a game where you have a certain amount of ships and your goal is to sink the other players ship's before your ships gets sunken and you lose. Anyway, we have 2 number coordinate grid up to 10 on each side of the page, your page, and the enemy's (your teammates page also puts enemy on their separate page . You have different sizes of ships and you can put them where ever you want on your page, once your done you then begin the game. You can say any number and letter up to 10 only like, A1 or J10 etc, if you hit one of their ships they will say hit! However, if you say one and you didn't hit one of their ships they will say miss! But, if you got all of their spots on one of the ships, they will say hit and sunk! And then it would be their turn and do the same thing until all the ships have sunk and a winner has been decided. This was my game but I lost and here is the photo of my loss. This is one of my most favourite game, what's yours?

My writing.

Lately our class has been doing narrative writing about natural disasters. My writing was about how I had a road trip to timaru and then there was an earthquake. It was really fun writing this story and at the end when everyone was done, we could act them out and see all the mistakes we have made. Mine had quite a lot of mistakes i'm not gonna lie but I wrote down what I needed to work on and it was really funny to act things out. My favourite part of my story was probably when the trees started to fall on the road and we thought it was the end of our life. Here is my writing of my story. By the way sorry if you can't read it.

What is the value of sport and physical education at school?

I value sports because it helps in developing  team spirit. Fitness can also help your bones harden for the future life and sports teach teamwork along with problem solving skills - when things just don't go right. Sports also really helps your health and it can reduce pressure and stress. We have done fitness in Top Team, Athletics and Swimming Sports. Here are some photos.

Geology about different types of rocks

For our topic we have been learning about different types of rocks and I found out the 3 most important types of rocks witch are Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic. The difference between these rocks are Igneous is formed from lava in or out a volcano, Sedimentary is actually made of sand, shells or sediments and how its created is the sand sinks to the bottom of the ocean, because of the pressure the sand will harden and get more and more harder until the sand becomes sand stone. And finally Metamorphic rocks are basically formed when great pressure and heat deep inside the earth mix different types of rock together, or change rocks form. I learnt a lot about rocks in this topic and I hope you learnt something as well. Heres a photo of my work.

Why mistakes are important for learning

I think mistakes will help you learn because imagine your just right at everything and you know what all questions are like passing every grade and not getting a good job.

Its fine to make mistakes cause you learn from your mistakes like if you scrape a car from taking your drivers license, you'll know not to be that close from a car or something like that.

Mistakes help you learn anything like riding a bike, getting questions wrong and maybe even not getting your driving license. So that is why mistakes are important for learning. By the way the book below this text is about a girl that has never made a mistake but then during a show she makes a mistake!
